Seeds for Transformed Living
You give the Light of the Universe form. What you
feel, what you think, how you behave, what you value
and how you live life reflect the way that you are
shaping the Light that is flowing through you.
--Gary ZukavBefore it incarnates, each soul
enters into a sacred contract with the Universe to
accomplish certain things. It enters into this
commitment in the fullness of its being. Whatever the
task that your soul has agreed to, all the experiences
of your life serve to awaken within you the memory of
that contract, and to prepare you to fulfill it.
--Gary Zukav In the silence of every soul lies
the answer to every question. --Deepak
Chopra Every moment of your life is infinitely
creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful. Just
put forth a clear enough request and everything your
heart desires must come to you. --Shakti

Simple
Pleasures
One of the most basic and simplest pleasures is sleep.
However, too many Amercians have difficulty enjoying
this pleasure. Here are five
simple steps to get a good night's rest:
Keep a regular sleep schedule. We are
creatures of habit, largely because our bodies are
governed by a "circadian clock" that balances
sleep and waking hours. When we stay up late or sleep
in at different times, we increase the probability of
throwing our clocks off schedule
and disrupting that balance.
Exercise at the right times. Exercise is
known
to make it easier to fall asleep, but experts suggest
that we finish our workouts at least three
hours before bedtime.
Don't eat or drink too much close to
bedtime.
Limit your intake of
food and liquids just before bedtime. Eating a meal,
especially one with spicy food, increases the chance of
physical discomfort and
liquids can cause nighttime full-bladder awakenings.
Use your bed for sleep and sex only. We are
more likely to fall asleep quickly if we don't use our
bedrooms as all-purpose activity rooms.
In particular, avoid associating the bed with activities
that trigger stress, such as paperwork or
disagreements with a spouse.
Get out of bed if you can't fall asleep. If
you can't fall asleep within 15 minutes, it is best to get
up and try an activity until sleepiness
sets in. Keep it simple and relaxing. Don't use the time
to do laundry or check email unless it does truly relax
you. Source: National Sleep

How To Get The Most Power From Coaching
Last month we discussed the power of
coaching, this month we'll discuss how to get the most
power from coaching. Getting the most
out of
your coaching relationship requires
four things:
You to be in the High Coachability Zone
A great match between you and your coach
Teach your coach how to coach you
Ask your coach to help you play bigger
Be In The High Coachability Zone When you
are open to being coached and can envision
yourself
in an honest, working relationship with a coach, then
you will get the most power from the coaching
experience. You are in the coachability zone. Let's
take a quick look at where you are in the zone!
Be sure there is a great match between you and
your coach Coaching is based in relationship,
and the best coaching is
based in a great match and relationship between you
and your coach. The relationship starts with selecting
the right coach for you. As a client, you need to feel
comfortable with your coach's orientation and general
approach.
So, how do you find a well-qualified coach who will fit
for you? Searching through various referral services,
such as that at Coachville.com or ICF's
FindaCoach.com is a simple approach to tapping into
the pool of qualified coaches. A second approach is to
ask someone you know who has had a successful
coaching experience to recommend someone.
Only through a personal meeting can you assess
whether a particular coach is right for you. Because
selecting a coach involves a combination of objective
and intuitive experience, it may take a few
conversations before you have a clear sense of
the "fit." Besides checking out professional
qualifications, discuss your specific needs and goals
with the coach, and determine with the coach whether
(s)he can work with you on the visions and goals you
want to achieve.
Questions to ask a coach before hiring him/her might
be:
Why are you the best qualified coach for
me? Can I get
2-3 references? What is your specialty,
how long
have you been doing it?
Why do I interest you as a possible client?
What do you think is most important
about coaching?
What is your code of ethics? Will
everything I tell you
remain confidential?
Questions to ask yourself before hiring a particular
coach:
Do I have a positive feeling about this person?
Do I like him/her voice, demeanor, etc?Am I
willing to be totally honest with this person? Does
this coach's program or approach match my needs?
Am I clear about his/her coach's fees and guidelines?
Teach your coach how to coach you Get
the most out of your coaching sessions by being
prepared to talk openly and honestly with your coach.
Click here for top ten topics to talk with your
coach about.
Ask your coach to help you play bigger
Goals help you to focus and lets you know how you are
doing. There are two types of coaching goals. The
first type is the one you really want to accomplish, for
example, completing the novel you been working on for
the last 6 months or getting a new and improved job.
The second type of goal is the "breakthrough project'
that is so powerful that your whole life upgrades as a
result of focus on it.
To get the most out of coaching, ask your coach to
help you play bigger by working on a breakthrough
project. Examples of breakthrough projects are:
A psychotherapist whose goal is to
become free of managed-care
and to grow a fee- for- service practice.
A successful small business owner wants
to expand her business
three-fold in one year.
A 17-year Fed-Ex employee (who is FED-
UP with Fed-Ex)
follows her dream to open her own florist
shop.So when you are in the High Coachability
Zone,
have a great match between you and your coach,
teach your coach how to coach you, and ask your
coach to help you play bigger, then you can experience
the power of coaching--the power
to achieve the results you want in your life, the power
to live
life more fully and easily, and the power to reach your
highest potential. (Be sure to read about

May's Newsletter)

Create Your Own Personal Spring Break
Just because you are no longer 20-something doesn't
mean you shouldn't
enjoy a little spring break. Kids aren't the only ones
who deserve a break
to recharge in this season of growth and change. So,
put your Palm aside for a few hours, put the vacuum
and the dust rags away and create your
own personal spring break by trying one or more of
these easy ideas:
Create your own tropical paradise. While it
may not be hot outside yet, you can bring the tropics
to you. Invite a few close friends over for a cold,
fruity drink (with the little umbrella, of course) and pop
in an island-themed video like The Blue Lagoon, Blue
Crush, or the classic Blue
Hawaii.
Take a weekend road trip. Pack a little bag
and jump in the car. The
only necessities for this fly-by-the-seat of your pants
trip are a reliable
car and sufficient money.
Have a girls' night out. It's good idea to put
on some glitzy evening clothes and go out for dinner
and dancing with your best gal pals.
Throw a pajama party. Invite friends over for
an old-school slumber
party, complete with movies, snack food, and
games.
Go on magical date-with yourself. The key
to a successful spring break is coming back with a
recharged battery. One of the best ways to do this is
to take some time out of your busy schedule
just for you. Set aside a night to pamper
yourself with a bubble bath, a mud mask, and a good
book. Take a walk through the park and enjoy the
quiet while basking in the beauty of spring. Treat
yourself to a good dinner and a movie. There is only
one rule for quality time alone-turn off your cell
phone!
